I’m wrapping up lesson planning for the new homeschool year by adding a new feature to our Bible readings! Printable bookmarks.
Years ago, when my daughter was a few months old, I put together printables on Context, Observation, Meaning, and Application to use for reading through passages of Scripture. I took those worksheets and boiled them down into little bookmarks for our family to either fill out or use to guide us during our Bible readings.

If we are short on time, we can just read these questions aloud and discuss. But if we want to dig deeper into a passage, then the kids can either take notes in their Bible notebooks or fill out the bookmarks. One of my desires is to equip them with tools they can put in their tool belts to help them grow in their biblical literacy, and ultimately in their love for God.

My daughter is scheduled to read 1 & 2 Samuel for Year 4 with AmblesideOnline, so I decided to combine grades and read through it together as a family. Below, you can download bookmarks for the “Old Testament” as well as for “1 & 2 Samuel”.
