The Woman Who Loved to Give Books by Rebecca Van Doodewaard

Book Review: The Woman Who Loved to Give Books by Rebecca Van Doodewaard
Banner of Truth, 2017
Boardbook

If you’re looking for a great board book series to introduce young kids to some men and women from church history–then check out the Banner Board Books published by Banner of Truth. Authored by Rebecca Van Doodewaard, each book focuses on the ministry of one faithful Christian figure.

The Woman Who Loved to Give Books is about Susannah Spurgeon, the wife of the famous preacher Charles Spurgeon. We learn how Susannah’s involvement in her husband’s ministry changed after she fell ill, and how that illness led her to start a book ministry!

The illustrations are lively and fun, and there are even prompts to find hidden items throughout the pages. But the best part is seeing the way sickness in a believer’s life can be used by the Lord to show his love to others.
