I’m Lauren, wife to Mark and mom to two wonderful kiddos, ages 12 and 8. Our family has roamed around the world, living both on tropical islands on the equator and the winter wonderland of the Great North, but we are settling down here on a family ranch in North Texas.
I am a cross-cultural ministry worker by trade, but director of operations for a wonderful publisher, Lithos Kids, by profession. My other jobs have been grassroots lobbyist, podcast producer, paper arts sales associate, and women’s ministry coordinator. I’ve continued my education on and off through seminary classes from Heritage College & Seminary, humanities classes through Texas Baptist College, and reading great books!
As you may already tell, I am a huge book enthusiast. I love to read, curate, research, sell, and share books with others. My love for books began at a young age when my mom was influenced by homeschool groups on AOL and books from lists such as Who Should We Then Read? by Jan Bloom. We were surrounded by living books–as my mom sold used books for a lot of my childhood.
Now that we have put down some roots in Texas, I now have a more permanent place to house our home library of lending books. And we are also continuing our homeschool journey again in fall 2023 after a transitional period. So here is where we will journal our home education journey, hopefully leading to a lifetime of learning, and all the books we find along the way.
