I am an 90’s kid and grew up with The Beginner’s Bible. It was a book that I learned to read from, and as a young kid, I was drawn to the colorful cartoon images. I was excited to see that The Good Book Company released a storybook Bible last year, that reminds me so much of The Beginner’s Bible, but focuses on some wonderful foundational themes throughout Scripture.

Written by Carl Laferton, God’s Big Promises Bible Storybook focuses on God’s big promises in fun and fantastic way. They have made a way for even the youngest kids to understand that not only has God has made different kinds of promises to his people but he also keeps them.

Speckled through the Bible storybook are symbols representing each time that God makes a promise, as well as highlighted symbols sharing when God kept those promises. The different “promise paths” that they follow are: The Rescue Path, The People Path, The Land Path, The Joy Path, and The King Path. What a fun system to help kids make these connections and see that our God is a faithful promise-keeping God.

God’s Big Promises Bible Storybook contains both the Old and New Testament, sharing stories like “Elijah and the Fire” and “Philip and the Ethopian”. These are wonderful key stories for early Bible readers. They are indeed foundational stories, faithfully told.
If you are looking for a beginner’s Bible for kids ages 2 – 6, then definitely consider reading through God’s Big Promises Bible Storybook together this year!

The publisher sent me these books in exchange for an honest review.
