Crossway has a series of board books called Big Theology for Little Hearts which each introduce a big theological idea from the Bible to little kids. The Gospel walks kids through the gospel story highlighting words that are often heard surrounding it.

Provencher begins by introducing them to God and man, and how soon after creating them man rebelled against God. He goes on to explain how the punishment they deserved was taken on by the sacrifice of Jesus, who was a perfect man. Through his death and resurrection we are able to respond by placing our belief in Jesus for eternal life.

While some of these words may be “too big” for the youngest readers, over time they will build a rich theological vocabulary.
