Book Review: What Are Hands For? and What Are Mouths For? by Abbey Wedgeworth
The Good Book Company, 2023
Boardbook

Earlier this summer, Abbey Wedgeworth released the first two titles in the series Training Young Hearts. Both books are “Lift the flap” board books written with ages 0-4 in mind.
Both books focus on a different body part, sharing biblical truths about them and how we can honor God through our actions. But most of all, Wedgeworth incorporates gospel truths that remind little ones of the grace and hope we have in Jesus!

For example, in What Are Mouths For? we learn about how God made our mouth and all sorts of things we can do with our mouths. But God didn’t want us to our mouths to hurt others or to sin. Wedgeworth then shares how Jesus used his mouth, and points to the gospel. She shows how we can respond when we sin with our mouth and the hope that we have in Jesus.

Even those these board books were written for toddlers, several times I found my six-year-old sitting and looking through them. She enjoyed the bright colors, fun illustrations and most of all, lifting the flaps.
These board books make a great addition to a family or church library, as they are great resources for teaching young kids about they can be like Jesus and trust in him.
And, if you like these, stay tuned! As two more books in the series are due to release in January 2024!
The publisher sent me these books for review consideration but all opinions are my own.
