How Do We Know that Christianity is Really True? by Chris Morphew

Book Review:
How Do We Know That Christianity Is Really True? by Chris Morphew
The Big Questions series
The Good Book Company, 2021

“If Jesus came back to life, he’s the King of the universe and everyone should follow him—but if Jesus *didn’t* come back to life, it’s all a bunch of garbage and *no one* should follow him.”

My 9-year-old and I just finished reading this together, and he is already asking for the next book by the author. When he read, “Maybe you’ve got a sneaking suspicion that Jesus might be who the Bible says he is, but you want to know if there’s any solid evidence,” my son responded with a “Yep, that’s me!”

I so appreciated all of the valid questions Morphew addressed—questions that many wonder—and that he wasn’t dismissive or said you just have to have faith. The back of his book states, “Big questions deserve good answers.” I loved that he encouraged readers to keep investigating and asking questions.

Morphew did an excellent job at introducing independent sources, historical texts, original texts, and eyewitnesses; using excellent illustrations to help explain this to younger readers. He responds to the two questions:

Can we trust that Jesus rose from the dead?

And, if Jesus did really come back to life.. what am I going to do about it?
